Hunter Davis
Co-Founder
Front Ensemble Percussion Designer
Hunter is a percussionist, composer, and arranger from Noblesville, IN, whose passion for music began at an early age. Inspired by both modern rock and rap artists as well as his father—a lifelong guitarist and drummer—Hunter developed a deep curiosity for diverse musical styles and a drive to pursue composition to its fullest potential.
His formal journey started in middle school, performing in concert band, jazz ensembles, and pep band. In high school, he expanded his experience as a member of the marching band and indoor percussion ensemble, where his time with battery percussion shaped much of his performance career. Despite this, Hunter’s true artistic specialty lies in writing and arranging for front ensemble percussion, where his creative voice and unique style consistently resonate with performers.
Following graduation, Hunter chose a different path, enlisting in the United States Air Force in 2019, where he currently serves as a Fuels Specialist (aka "POL"). While his military service may seem far removed from music, his dedication to composition has remained constant. He continues to write and arrange during his free time, further refining his craft and maintaining a strong connection to the performing arts.
Looking ahead, Hunter aspires to dedicate himself fully to music and the marching arts following his service. Through Velvet Audio, he aims to share his works with ensembles and performers worldwide, combining his performance background, compositional skill, and lifelong passion into productions that inspire and engage.
