Partner
Woodwinds & Brass Designer
Alex is a brass and wind composer/arranger based in Southern California. He is currently pursuing his studies at Irvine Valley College with plans to transfer to California State University, Long Beach to complete a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education. Alongside his academic journey, Alex serves as both a visual and music instructor at his alma mater, Aliso Niguel High School, a program with multiple Southern California School Band & Orchestra Association (SCSBOA) championships to its name.
Exposed to a wide range of musical styles from an early age, Alex draws inspiration from salsa, jazz, R&B, pop, and contemporary brass and wind ensemble traditions. These influences are central to his writing, giving his compositions and arrangements a distinctive voice rooted in stylistic diversity.
His drum corps experience began in 2018 as a rookie with the Vanguard Cadets, and in 2019 he returned as trumpet section leader and soloist. In 2020, he was contracted with the Santa Clara Vanguard before the season was cut short due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Alex went on to march with Santa Clara Vanguard through 2024, concluding his performing career by aging out with the corps that year.
In addition to composing and arranging, Alex teaches private lessons on trumpet, mellophone, and electric bass. He approaches every project with a focus on the client’s vision, striving to create music that is not only effective in performance but also educational and rewarding for the performers themselves.
